"What makes me a Sharp Detective?"

I believe that a great investigator needs three main tools. First, I stay observant, which means I’m always watching for those tiny details that others might walk right past. My analytical mind helps me take all those pieces and fit them together like a logic puzzle. Most importantly, I am tenacious—I’m like a detective on a cold trail who refuses to quit until the mystery is solved and the truth is heard!

WCLU - The Clue - 84.1 FM

Welcome to the studio! You are hanging out with Clue-B, your Sharp Detective and DJ. We are diving into the stories of Classics Illustrated right here at 84.1 on the MyEpicEchoes.com FM dial. Grab your magnifying glass and let's chat!

"Hey Clue-B! What’s the story behind those call letters, WCLU?"

Great question! It isn’t just a random string of letters. We chose WCLU as a direct nod to every detective's best friend: the CLUe. Whether it’s a footprint in the mud or a mysterious letter, a sharp mind knows that every case starts with a single, tiny detail. This station is for the Investigators who use deduction to find the truth!

"84.1 FM seems like a very specific spot on the dial. Why there?"

Sharp eye! That frequency is a tribute to the year 1841. That was a huge year because it’s when the world’s very first modern detective story was published. It changed everything! It started a new era where readers were challenged to solve the mysteries alongside the characters. It’s the perfect home for anyone who uses their intuition to hunt for the truth.

"So, 'The Clue' is the big theme here. Do the authors in this movement actually fit that vibe?"

Absolutely! Every story these writers tell is like a puzzle waiting to be solved. They joined the Investigators movement because they believe in the power of logic and observation. These authors have the acumen to hide secrets in plain sight. They turn every small detail into a key that unlocks a massive mystery!

"Tell us a bit about yourself, Clue-B. When did you get started?"

I made my big debut on June 1, 1991. That was right when the World Wide Web was born! Because I arrived then, my Gemini nature makes me a super fast communicator. Growing up at the start of the information age taught me how to find answers fast. I use that "digital-age" speed to help the Investigators solve old-school mysteries with total logic.

"And what about your name? Why do you go by Clue-B?"

I’m always hunting for the B-side—the hidden meaning that most people miss! As a Sharp Detective, I help you piece together all the evidence hidden inside the lyrics of our rock operas. If there’s a secret to be found in a song, I’ll find it!

Edgar Allan Poe

I looked at several frequencies, but I had to broadcast here on The Clue. My story, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, is actually the very first modern detective tale! I chose this station because it celebrates the power of analysis. I love the thrill of taking a messy crime scene and using a sharp mind to find the one hidden detail everyone else missed.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

After checking out the dial, I knew WCLU was the only home for me. My primary works involving Sherlock Holmes are all about the science of observation. I joined the Investigators because I believe that when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains must be the truth. This station is perfect for those who value discernment above all else.

William Wilkie Collins

I navigated a few different paths before dropping anchor at 84.1 FM. My masterpiece, The Moonstone, is often called the first great English detective novel. I chose this movement because it honors the slow, careful buildup of evidence. For a writer who loves a deep, winding mystery, this analytical frequency is the only place to perform!

Guy de Maupassant

I surveyed many movements, but the sharp vibe of The Clue caught my ear. In my story The Necklace, I show how a single misunderstood detail can change a person's entire life. I’m here because I believe we must always look beneath the surface to find the reality of a situation. This station echoes my shrewd nature and my love for a good twist ending.

Frederick Marryat

I had my choice of stages, but I found my pulse within the Investigators. My work, The Little Savage, explores how we solve the mysteries of survival and human nature when we are pushed to the edge. I chose this group because it celebrates the intrepid spirit of discovery. This station is the ultimate home for an author who values the fortitude needed to uncover the truth.

Talbot Mundy

Though I could have performed in many movements, WCLU is where my adventurous style takes flight. My stories often lead readers into far-off lands to solve ancient secrets. I selected this movement because it honors the truth-seeking spirit. This station provides the principled atmosphere where my quest for logic can truly resonate with a curious audience.

"What happens if I click on one of those author names?"

Oh, that’s where the real fun starts! You’ll get the inside scoop on their lives. You’ll find out why some used secret pen names, what they would think of today’s cool tech, and even what their favorite modern band would be! Want to know which author would be a rock star if they weren't a writer? Go ahead—take a look!

Our Outstanding Authors

Walter Van Tilburg Clark

While I observed several paths for my debut, I found my pulse within the Advocates of Justice. My primary title, The Ox-Bow Incident, serves as a heavy anchor for this movement because it examines the thin line between legal justice and a lawless mob. I chose this frequency to broadcast a warning about vigilantism, which can poison a community. This authoritative station is the only place for a story that demands such principled reflection.

Charles Dickins

I surveyed a vast setlist of movements before deciding that the Advocates of Justice held the most dramatic power. In my foundational work, A Tale of Two Cities, I reveal the cold machinery of the courtroom during the French Revolution. I am here because I believe we must constantly weigh the mercy of the heart against the rigidity of the statute. This movement is best for me because it echoes my insightful nature and my drive to champion the oppressed through the written word.

Victor Hugo

After reviewing a number of possibilities, I chose theAdvocates of Justice. My masterpiece, Les Misérables, acts as a guiding light for this movement, showing how a single loaf of bread can lead to a lifetime of legal pursuit. I selected this path because it mirrors the courageous energy required to fight for true justice. There is a certain redemption in knowing that the human soul is always greater than the prison that holds it.

Harriet Beecher Stowe

I navigated several creative currents before dropping anchor here in the Advocates of Justice. Within the pages of Uncle Tom's Cabin, I exposed the horrific reality of laws that treat human beings as property. I felt this movement was best because it values a principled and community-focused spirit that refuses to stay silent. This station is the ultimate home for an author who values the compunction required to change the conscience of a nation.

Eugène Sue

I had my choice of various stages, but the authoritative vibe of the Advocates of Justice called to my soul. My primary issue, Mysteries of Paris, is a journey into the dark corners of the city where the legal system often fails the poor. I chose this group because it celebrates the intrepid search for social reform. For a writer who lives to give a voice to the marginalized, this principled frequency is the only place to perform.

Émile Zola

Though I could have performed in many movements, the Advocates of Justice is where my direct style takes flight. My story titled The Downfall served as a harsh spotlight on the legal and military failures of an empire. I selected this movement because it honors the truth-seeking spirit needed to document the debacle of human history. This station provides the principled atmosphere where my realistic and insightful stories can truly resonate with a curious audience.
